Reflection: This is the major project of my internship.
ADAFRUIT DIPTRACE LIBRARY CODE
Technical Information: I spent most of this time either writing code on the Pi or on Diptrace.
ADAFRUIT DIPTRACE LIBRARY HOW TO
Once you figure out how to use the libraries, it becomes very easy.Īctivities: Design the first version of the breakout board for being sent to be printed on the 10th. Probably the hardest part of learning Diptrace was finding stuff in the libraries, as it is a bit idiosyncratic and takes time to find parts that you need. It went well, but I look forward to designing the breakout board. Reflection: So, I spent the past two days completing the last of the introductory phase, if you will. Technical Information: Used a Raspberry Pi with standard OS and Python editor, Adafruit TFT touchscreen, ADS1015 A/D Converter, MPJA Joystick, and Diptrace After that, I taught my self Diptrace, a PCB design software. Once I found the pattern, it became a lot easier.Īctivities: Write a program that allows objects on the TFT screen to be controlled with the joystick. I also wrote a program that would allow me to test the ports on a breakout board to determine if they were labeled correctly, which they were after a fashion. Most of it was spent learning how to work the A/D Converter in unison with the screen, but once I put the files in the right place it worked great. Reflection: It was a fun, but challenging first two days. Technical Information: Used a Raspberry Pi with standard OS and Python editor, Adafruit TFT touchscreen, ADS1015 A/D Converter, MPJA Joystick, and misc.

During the lead time on the circuit board, I will be working from home to program modules of code to be imported into student's python programs for various sensors.Īctivities: Become familiar with the Raspberry Pi touch screen and Adafruit ADS1015 Also, begin mapping out the port labels on the Adafruit Cobbler breakout board. I am doing programming for the Raspberry Pi and circuit design for breakout boards to be used in the prototyping of medical instruments. This internship is a several week long job under Bob Malkin, PhD.
